"Over a year ago me and some friends put together a charity hockey game to raise money for mental health. Unfortunately due to the pandemic we were unable to host the event again … until now!
The new reality for some during the pandemic included working from home, temporary unemployment, homeschooling of children, and lack of physical contact with family members, friends, and colleagues. Adapting to major lifestyle changes is challenging for all of us and can be extremely difficult for people with mental health conditions. Fortunately, through organizations and fundraisers, we all can do our part and help those who face these challenges.
The Keg Cup event raised over $1000 for mental health and this year we are hoping to get more people involved. This last year has been especially hard on everyone and now more than ever it is crucial we do everything we can to raise awareness for mental illness and show our support!
This year we are excited to announce that we will be teaming up with the Canadian Mental Health Association - Calgary Region (CMHA Calgary). Through this collaboration, we hope the Keg Cup can draw on an even larger audience. The CMHA has a presence in 330 communities across every province and one territory. By fundraising through the CMHA Calgary we are enabling them to provide advocacy programs and resources that help to prevent mental health illnesses, support recovery, and resilience, and enable all those battling mental health to flourish and thrive"
