2022 Wearmouth Thomas Memorial Open

Mental illness and suicides have been devastating to youth all over the world and continue to wreak havoc on that segment of the population. Josephine Wearmouth and Phillip Thomas were two youngsters from our tennis club who ended their lives prematurely as a result of this devastating disease.
The Calgary Tennis Club (CTC) is a not-for-profit outdoor seasonal club providing competitive, social play and lessons for all levels of play in the Calgary community. Josephine Wearmouth and Phillip Thomas were active and long-time members of the club when they ended their lives in 2018 and 2019. From June 29 to July 3, 2022, the Calgary Tennis Club will host a special tennis tournament in support of mental health and honour Josephine and Phillip's memory.
